TPS25750: How to determine which Power Delivery Bracket has been negotiated?

Part Number: TPS25750

Hi,

I am currently designing a product which requires USB-C with Power Delivery to function. The device will be a UFP, sinking power from a USB-C PD wall adapter.

However, power brackets with voltages less than 9V 3A cannot be used, brackets providing 3A can only be used in a limited manner and only the 100W power bracket can power all the desired features.

I therefore need a method by which an MCU can get feedback from the TPS25750 IC about which PD bracket has been negotiated between the wall charger and the IC so that the different features can be enabled and disabled accordingly.

Is there a method with which this can be done?

Regards,

Ing. Andre Cilia

  • Andre,

The method to determine the negotiated PDO which is the term that we use for Voltage and current Setting is located in the TVM ()

The register that is most likely to interest you is the ACTIVE_CONTRACT_PDO register

The format for this register is shown on the previous page of the TRM.
