TPD4E001: current rating

Part Number: TPD4E001

Hi team,

My customer use the TPD4E001 in some of their designs.  They want to use its diode array to clamp voltage levels. Can it safely carry 10 mA continuously?  The datasheet does have a voltage drop test for that level but does not make any statements whether or not this is permissible.

For example, they might clamp a 5V IO to 3.3V so they can feed it directly to an FPGA. They would place a 10K resistor between the IO and the clamp. So 1.7V/10K = 170uA would flow in the diode that case.

Best Regards,

Connie
