Hi,

Been fighting this for a while... ive finally got the computer to recognize a USB device but not any further. I have my suspend LED on, so something isn't quite right. What am i doing wrong?

EEDATA is GND and Bus powered mode.

    Hi Chris,

    Is the computer recognizing the hub?  Can you send what is being reported by the host?  The hub will typically be suspended by the host when there are no downstream devices connected.

    It recognizes it as a 'Generic USB Hub' but under details, it has partial or mismatched data? 

    Have tried with a USB flash drive in it and the computer reported USB current overload. Looking on the Hub there was only less than 4v being supplied to the USB device through the power switcher. The LED i put onto the suspend line does occasionally go off for a second or so...

    Hi Chris,

    Can you try setting your hub to self powered mode (even if is it still bus powered) and see if it works?  If the hub is set to bus powered mode, depending on the driver, the host may estimate the amount of power required by the hub and then read the descriptors from the downstream device that report how much power it  requires and if those two values add up to more than the max 500 mA of the typical USB 2.0 port, an overcurrent will get flagged and the host may disable the port.
