HI,Friend,

DS90LV004/DS90LV001 was applied in my device, I want to evaluate the signal quality of LVDS in the end of the cable.

The questions are as following:

1. A device is used as a source to generate test code for measuring the signal quality of LVDS in the end of the cable. So, Which source should I choose? MCU or FPGA or another?

2.What is the test sequence packets like? and how to generate it?

3.what are parameters should I measure of LVDS test？

If possible, Please provide me with some documents. I am looking forward to receiving your reply.

Hi Teck,

1. You can use any source that can output an LVDS signal

2. LVDS is purely electrical so there are no test sequence packets

3. You can test the signal quality with an eye diagram. For most devices you'll typically want to see a minimum of 100mV vertical eye opening and around 0.75 UI horizontal eye opening. You can reference this application note for an example: https://www.ti.com/lit/an/slaa844/slaa844.pdf
