DS90UB934-Q1: Does Toggling SEL Change Registers?

Hi Team,

Quick question, when using a 934 and the SEL pin is changed will any 934 register values change/go back to default?

When switching in a new camera will obviously need to reinitialize any setting on the seralizer that is switched in, but I'm trying to understand what reinitialization would need to be done on deseralizer specific registers.

Hi David,

Based on the block diagram in the datasheet, I don't believe the 934 will have its registers reset. I'd suggest trying this out on a module if you can.

Thanks for the reply. Could you also confirm if the 934 will keep lock with both channels at the same time or when the SEL pin is toggled will lock have to be reestablished with the new camera?

Hi David,

Looking at the block diagram, I think lock will be lost when you switch the SEL. There's a 2:1 mux in the block and that controls which forward channel data is passed to the AEQ block. After you change the SEL to the other camera, it may re trigger the AEQ circuit to LOCK to the new channel.
