HD3SS3202: USB 3.0 demux selection

Hi Expert,

HD3SS3202 supplies switching on differential channels between Port B or Port C to Port A. Do we have a 1:2 USB3.0 controller that can support below features?

1. Port A as input

2. Port B and port C as output

3. Port B and Port C output the same signal at the same time instead of A to B or A to C

    Hi,

    You would need a USB hub instead the MUX for this application. Please take a look at the TUSB8044A. The upstream port will be connected to Port A, and the downstream ports will be connected to Port B and Port C.

    Hi David,

    Thanks for your reply. I'd like to double check with you. For USB hub, the downstream ports can receive the same signal from upstream port at the same time. Is it right? TUSB8044A has four downstream ports. Do we have a two downstream ports Hub controller available?

    Hi,

    The data received from the upstream port will be sent to all the downstream ports. Since the hub will re-packetize the data, there will be some latency between each port (not the same time).

    For two-port hub controller, please take a look at the TUSB8020B. Please note this is a USB3.1, not a USB3.2 hub controller.

    If USB3.2 is required, you can also use the TUSB8042A which is another 4 port hub controller without the TUSB8044A Billboard function. But we do not have a USB3.2 2 port hub controller right now.
