SN65HVD1786: 70V-Bus-Protection

Part Number: SN65HVD1786
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: THVD2450

Dear Sir or Madam,

the datasheet on page 16 (9.3.3 70-V Fault-Protection, see also picture below) shows, that the SN65HVD17xx devices with fast signaling rate(10 Mbps) will not survive bus pin faults up to 70V under certain conditions (see also picture attached). This means, the SN65HVD1786 (signaling rate =1 Mbps) will survive +/- 70V under all conditions, right? Especially also under these conditions:
1. Power=on, DE=HI, D=L, A= -70V < VA < 70V, B = -70V < VB < 70V
2. Power=on, DE=HI, D=H, A= -70V < VA < 70V, B = -70V < VB < 70V

Best regards
Michael Wartha
