TPD1S514: replace NCP392A from OnSemi, which is EOL

my customer would like to replace the NCP392A (EOL) with our TPD1S514-1YZR. But there's a difference  with the VBUS_POWER pin. Our datasheet says: VBUS_POWER should be tied to ground with a 1-μF capacitor for LDO stability, while the NCP392A does not need a capacitor there! As a PCB redesign should be avoided, the question is, how would our TPD1S514 behave without a capacitor at the VBUS_POWER pin? It's mentioned as should and not as a must....
