HD3SS3220: Currently, the 5g-evb project uses hd3ss3220irnht chip, and the OTG function is being verified

Part Number: HD3SS3220

Currently, the 5g-evb project uses hd3ss3220irnht chip, and the OTG function is being verified

It is found that when the OTG device is inserted into the type-C interface, the CC pin can be pulled down, but the ID pin of the port expansion chip cannot output low level,ID external pull-up, through the partial voltage to 1.8V level. Plug in OTG equipment, has been high. Did not pull low. What is the reason for the low ID, and what is the way to deal with the problem?

  • Hi Carl,

ID will be asserted low when PORT if high (DFP) or NC (DRP) and the CC pins are connected to a device presenting an appropriate Rd. Let's first start with the power-up sequence. Does 3.3V ramp after the 5V rail? Please ensure that your design follows the sequence in Figure 7-2 from the datasheet. If not the part could not be reset properly and you will not see the expected output.

Also you should remove the pull down resistor on the ID pin (R1120).What is the configuration of PORT during testing?
