Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TFP401
I am currently generating a 480i (720 x 480, 59.96Hz) DVI signal using a Quantum Data 780C. This is being transmitted down approximately 3 metres of HDMI cable terminating in an HDMI to DVI connector adapter.
When connected to a standard monitor with a DVI input, I am seeing the expected test patterns being generated on the monitor screen so I know the correct data is arriving at the end of the cable.
Connecting this set up to the TFP401PZPEVM, with the only other connections being a 5Vdc supply and the card set up with default switch and jumper positions I would expect to see activity on the QEx, ODCK, DE, HSYNC and VSYNC outputs but nothing appears to be happening.
All QE signals are at 0V.
CTRL1, CTRL2, CTRL3, DE and HSYNC are at 3.3V
VSYNC and ODCK are at 0V.
Setting SW1.2 (/PD) to low, the signals are set as follows:
All QE signals are at 0V.
CTRL1, CTRL2, CTRL3, are at 3.3V
DE, HSYNC, VSYNC and ODCK are at 0V.
Returning SW1.2 (/PD) to high, the signals return to the original state except ODCK is now at 3.3V.
Toggling SW1.7 (OCK_INV) I can toggle the ODCK signal between 0V and 3.3V.
Looking at the TDMS data at the TFP401PZPEVM test points, these appear to be sat at about 3V with no data on them. Disconnecting the DVI connector, the voltages at the test points rise to 3.3V. Moving the DVI connector back to a PC monitor with DVI input, I'm seeing the expected test patterns.
Is there something I've missed in my set-up or do I have a faulty TFP401PZPEVM card?
