Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS65988
Hi Team,
Can I read/write IOCC value?
If yes, could you please let us know the Method?

Hello,
This is captured well in the app note:
Please let me know if you have any questions.
Thanks,

Hi Emma-san,
We are evaluating TPS65987DDH at the following.
Then, TPS65987DDH source board can supply 5V/1.8A.
[Source capability setting]
Maximum current =3A
Voltage =5V
Peak current=200%
[Sink capability setting]
Maximum current=0.9A
Voltage=5V
My understanding is as follows.
Is my understanding correct?
<My understanding>
-If Source capability is 5V/3A, peak current 100% and Sink capability is 5V/0.9A, source board can supply 5V/0.9A.
-If Source capability is 5V/3A peak current is 200% and Sink capability is 5V/0.9A source board can supply 5V/1.8A(0.9 * 2).
So, peak current setting affects the actual current.

Hi Hide-san,
The peak current only adjusts the overcurrent protection (OCP) also called the overcurrent clamp point. It will not affect the source or sink capabilities. Peak current setting does not affect actual current setting.
Thanks,
Emma
Hi Hide-san,
Is the TPS65988 the source or the sink in this scenario? The Iocc is only enabled while the TPS65988 is acting as a source.
Thanks,
Emma
