PCF8574: Could you support to share the TI best device instead of PCA9500 (NXP)? Would be there an IO Expander that is pin compatible with PCA9500 or PCF8574, has the same control, and can drive at 400kHz?

Part Number: PCF8574

The fist time, we have promoted the PCF8574, but this device isn't supported over 100kHz as max frequency for I2C case.

(Required) Data communication is started after Slave Address (same control as PCF8574).

NG case, if Command byte comes immediately after Slave Address

(Required) 400kHz drive possible.

If the Slave Address can be set to "0100000", there is no problem even if there are no multiple bits.

  • Hi H_K,

We don't have anything like the PCA9500 as we (TI) don't currently have EEPROMs in our portfolio.

The PCF devices are both unique in the I2C programming perspective (data written immediately after I2C device's address) and the pinout. This means none of our other I2C GPIOs would be able to take a PCF's place directly.
