Hi team,
My customer is checking the CMLOUT waveform and found no specific spec of eye height of UB962, could you help to share some advice?
Thanks.

Hi James,
It should be minimum 0.35UI for differential output eye opening. Refer to section 7.4.8 for more details.

Hi Jiashow,
We know the eye width is 0.35UI, but there is no specific eye height for the CMLOUT on UB962 datasheet.
Could you help to provide this?
Thanks.
Hi James,
We don't have the CMLOUT eye height spec, but the serializer datasheet should have the output voltage. For example, for the 933, the differential output voltage is between 640 and 824mV.

Jiashow
Hi Jiashow,
If we don't have the eye height spec, how should we judge the CMLOUT is okay?
You mention the 933 output voltage is about 640-824mV, but this is for the FPD-link output side.
According to the datasheet, CMLOUT should have its own drive output voltage..
My key questions is how to be sure about the test result pass our requirement?
Thanks.
James
Hi James,
The jitter spec should need to be met in CMLOUT.
Another suggestion I have for checking the eye margin is to run the margin analysis test. It's a test where the deserializer sweeps through the EQ and SP settings. This is a reliable way to indicate how much margin you have.
Best,
Jiashow
Hi Jiashow,
I understand we could check the from the MAP, but this an request from CAR OEM side.
So for the CMLOUT eye height, should it be same voltage as Ser output?
Please let me know if you have any advice, thanks.
James
