TUSB8041: U0,U1,U2 : what do you mean?

Part Number: TUSB8041

Hi,

What do U0,U1,U2 mean on the TUSB8041 datasheet P.11?

Is this state of link? Please advise us in details.

Thanks and best regards,
M.HATTORI

  • Hello,

U0, U1, U2, U3 are the link power states defined in the USB 3.x specification.  Where a U0 link is completely active and U3 is completed suspended.  U1/U2 are intermediate power states.

    Regards,

  • hi Hattori-san,

Correct, U0/1/2 refer to the USB 3 link state. U0 is the active state where communication between the USB Hubs and device/host is continuous (per bus traffic). If the USB device and host support low power link states U1/U2 then power is conserved until USB traffic calls for entry back into U0. For more information please refer to sections 7.5.6-7.5.8 in the USB 3.2 spec.
