DS90UB949-Q1EVM: How to use a DS90UB949 to drive a 13.2 inch TFT module

Hi TI expert

We need use HDMI signal of the PC as the video source, the serializer uses DS90UB949 EVB Kit, the deserializer is DS90UB948, the PC output is the standard HDMI signal, the TFT LCD module  used BOE 13.2 inch product,  maximum resolution supports 2348(H) ×RGB ×1080(V), and the backlight has been lighted, but the screen can not display normally. we can use Analog launch pad to read and write the registers. please kindly tell us how to modify the registers to light the screen.

    Hi Thomas,

    Did you program the correct EDID into the 949? When you connect the PC and 949 via HDMI, does PC recognize a 2348x1080 monitor is connected?

    Sorry for reply lately .Actually we do not know how to modify the EDID to match the TFT module. Could you kindly give us the correct EDID. When we input the PC HDMI signal to the TFT module, PC can recognize a display device. But the TFT module can't display normally.

    I would need the detailed timing to do  that. Could you provide all the horizontal and vertical timing parameter including blanking information such as back porch, front porch and sync width?

    Thank you for your replying.

    I think the parameter of the TFT module that you need is in the datasheet. You can refer to the attachment.

    I changed EDID in the Analog launch pad one byte by one byte.and I tried several times，there is no change in the TFT module after I changed the EDID. and the EDID can't save when I unplug the USB cable between the DS90UB94B EVM with my PC.
    Do you know what is the problem? Please refer as attached file.

    I ran the script.The screen is responding but still can't display normally.
    I made a video for reference.and I suspect that EDID is not quite right，
    Please help us troubleshoot the problem.

    Please see if you can use an EDID tool to modify the EDID to fit your panel.
