TCAN4550-Q1: Standby mode.

Guru 11255 points

Hi team,

When the power is turned on, it goes into standby mode.

At that time, what is the state of the CAN TH/RX?(Hi-Z?)

Sincerely.
Kengo.

  • Hi Kengo,

Table 8-1 shows the Mode Overview of the device, including the state of CAN TX/RX in each mode. In Standby, these signals are indeed off (high-Z). Keep in mind that both signals are pulled-up to Vio. This is depicted in Figure 8-2.

  • Hi Eric,

    Thank you for your reply.

Could you tell me a little more about your comment?
'' both signals are pulled-up to Vio. This is depicted in Figure 8-2. ''
Does this mean SPI and Digital IO?

    Sincerely.
    Kengo.

  • Hi Kengo,

Yes, this figure shows pull-ups on all SPI and IO lines. This is also the case when the device is in test mode and the IO lines are used for TXD and RXD for example.

Was your original question referring to the pin states in this test mode? This mode is a way to use the IO lines as the transceiver input/output lines directly. A separate test mode allows the use of the CAN FD controller without the transceiver. The pull-ups are active in both test modes and in standard operating modes.

    Regards,
    Eric Schott
