My customer is trying to test their design with DS90UB953. They can see that they can obtain good eye pattern on the FPDLink3 output pins (as depicted in the Datasheet: Figure 3. Eye Diagram at 4-Gbps FPD-Link III Forward Channel Rate From Serializer Output)
They are connecting the FPDLink3 lines directly to the scope (no deserializer in the setup), where the configuration of the serializer is from the camera side using i2c, and asynchronous clocking mode. So far they are unable to get the scope lock on the signal and get a poor noisy diagram. (please note that when connecting to the deserializer, the communication works fine)
We need your advice on the setup:
1. Is there a problem to avoid the deserializer and connect to a scope only?
2. Can you recommend a configuration for this purpose?
3. Anything else that might help?
