TUSB4020BI: How to use with hardware mode as USB hub product

Part Number: TUSB4020BI

Hi,

Is my understanding correct that it isn't necessary to set the required registers via I2S bus or an external EEPROM as below if using TUSB40420B with the hardware mode as the USB hub product?
If yes, could please tell me what kind of use case TUSB4020B can be applied to with the hardware mode in detail?
Additionally, please let me know if there are any points to note when using TUSB40420B with the hardware mode.

Best regards,
Kato

  • Hello Kato,

The TUSB4020B does not require I2C EEPROM or SMBUS for normal operation.  The majority of customer use the TUSB4020B in hardware.  The registers only need to be set if the customer wants to customize descriptor strings or set port to non-removable.
