Part Number: TFP401
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: THS8136
Hello.
I need to convert HDMI to analog CVBS.
HDMI source - is my own board (i.mx based).
Is this good and working idea to to tie "TFP401 + ADV7393" ?

Hi Alexander,
I'm not familiar with the ADV7393 as it's not a TI part, but if can convert parallel RGB to CVBS then this solution should work well. Please also note that with the TFP401 the HDMI stream cannot contain any audio.

Ok. Иге there is one doubt.
The documentation for the ADV7393 contains information that in the RGB 8:8:8 mode, 2 clock tact per 1 data bit are required, I attach a picture.
Is this problem?
And TFP401 is only 24-bit RGB 8:8:8 pixel bus, and ADV7393 have 16-Bit 4:4:4 RGB pixel bus, so what can be done with the extra bits?
Hi Alexander,
Actually, from the diagram above it looks like the ADV7393 has serial pixel ports where data is input serially into each port. This is not compatible with the TFP401, since our device outputs parallel RGB data, not serial data. Additionally, the " 2 clock tact per 1 data bit" for the ADV7393 is also incompatible with the TFP401. Unfortunately we do not have a solution that can interface with the ADV7393.

Hi Alexander,
Sorry but we do not have solutions for HDMI to CVBS.

Hi Alexander,
VGA is a very old technology - we don't have solutions for DP to VGA either.
We do have solutions for HDMI to LVDS if that is an option for you though.
