DS90UB954-Q1: Open questions on device parameters

Part Number: DS90UB954-Q1

Hi Team,

Can you kindly support with the the device parameters :

1. In my design, I would like to supply the VDDIO with 3.3V

a. would the CSI levels be referenced to the 3.3V or would they be referenced to VDD18_CSI voltage levels?

b. Can the PDB pin be directly connected to the 3.3V rail GPIO ?

c. With this voltage at VDDIO, would the voltage levels at the RN0/1 be 3.3V ?

2. What purpose does the GPIO serve at the deserializer ?

a. In my design I do not have sufficient GPIO lines available and hence would like to know if this is critical for any particular use case in a camera applicaiton

3. I would like to use the 2MP/60FPS setting for the device? Can you please help me understand what should be the configuration on the MODE pin?

  • Hi Nikhil,

The CSI-2 transmitter levels are fixed (according to the MIPI spec). You can find the signal amplitudes HSTX and LPTX spec in the 954 datasheet. PDB pin should be connected to 1.8V. The voltage level at Rin are specified in page 13 in the 954 datasheet. The VDDIO voltage only affects your I2C and GPIO buses. The rest of the interfaces (MIPI and FPD) have fixed voltages.

The GPIO on the deserializer can be used to indicate lock, pass, and gpio status of the serializer. Refer to section 7.4.13 in the datasheet for more information.

What's your serializer interface? Are you using 953 as your serializer?

    Best,
