TUSB320: CC pins toggling and ID pin offset

Expert 4476 points

Hello!

We are using the TUSB320IRWBR and we have attached a sink device before power up. The waveforms on the CC pins are toggling but with normal shape and the ID pin has some DC offset (~2V). Then at around 10 seconds, ID pin has a pulse, and go to stable low. It kind of looks like it is in some different mode during first 10 seconds. Since we use ID pin to drive buck boost (5V out to type-C), this pulse at ID pin will be an issue.

I have posted the below waves as reference.

Thanks!

  • Hi,

Is there a schematic I can review for this application? During the first waveform is TUSB320 powered up when Sink device is connected? What is the power up sequence in this application?

    I recommend using TUSB320LAI instead of TUSB320I.
