10G BASE-KR retimer with DSR

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DS100KR401, DS160PR410

Dear Team,

My customer is looking to add a retimer with CDR to their system and I am hoping that you could point me to the appropriate device. They use a COM Express Type VII CPU with a 10G BASE-KR interface and the signals will be traveling through several connectors.

They considered the DS100KR401, but it is only a linear device, and reflections, jitter etc, are not really corrected, only frequency dependent losses. Perhaps you could comment?

What would be the optimal TI solution here?

Please let me know if there are details that are needed to fully answer this inquiry.

Kind regards,

Daniel

  • Hi Daniel,

In this situation, we recommend linear devices from our portfolio in order to offer the best compatibility with link training in 10G BASE-KR.  The DS100KR401 or DS160PR410 are both possible options.

I would recommend running simulations of these devices using IBIS-AMI models in your system to determine if they can satisfy your needs.

    Thanks,
