Hello team,

Could you please let me know how to protect LED from ESD?

In my system, +5.7V rail is connected to diode anode. The kathode is connected to drain of optoMOS.

Do I need to connect ESD diode to both anode and kathode?

Is TPD1E05U06 right parts to protect the LED from +8kV ESD?

Hello Itoh,

Just to clarify, the source of the ESD event would come from the LED being zapped, and you are trying to protect PM4, correct?

Hello,

Must be rotated in a vacuum.
It is necessary to protect the LED when ESD to friction wraps around.

Hello,

At the very least, you should attach an ESD protection device to the cathode side of the LED to protect PM4 if the LED is exposed. If the 5.7 V supply does not have any protection in it, I would recommend putting a device on the anode side as well.
