Hi Nick,

I'm not seeing anything obvious in the schematic.  Can you check if the USB hub is getting enumerated by the USB host:  if you have a Windows platform you can check in design manager or download usbview.exe   Can you link me to the board you are using as a reference, I didn't see it on the MSP page that included a hub.

I am using the MSP430F5529 Evaluation Module Design as a reference. User Guide Datasheet shows all of this. I am unsure what you mean about checking the enumeration by the USB host. Do you mean device manager on windows? I can send a screenshot of that.

Yes, send the screenshot of the device manager window, I'm trying to determine if the issue is with the hub enumeration or the MS430 enumeration.

You should get a request from me, I think it will show up in the upper right hand corner of the screen.

It looks like the hub is not getting enumerated, can you check the voltage on the DP line and the DM line between the host and the hub?  And check if the clock starts or not.  Thanks.

Where exactly should I be checking this? The host meaning the USB port pin and the Hub meaning pins 1 and 2 on the TUSB? 

I am geting 3.06 on the DP0 (D+) line and nothing on the DM0(D-) line, both measured at the TUSB terminal pins 1 and 2 respectively. The crystal is receiving 3.3V on one side but I am not seeing a voltage on the other terminal (third terminal not connected to ground). The EECLK pin 5 is reading a high voltage as well.

Hi Nick,

Ok, so the DP pullup is on and nothing is happening on DM.  That sounds right for what you are seeing.  Do you have a way to check if you are getting a clock signal out of the crystal?  Can you try manually (briefly) shorting reset to ground to force a reset?

Where would I be able to see the clock signal? Directly from the crystal or on a pin on the TUSB? I can interrogate it however I need to and have an oscilloscope handy.

Hi Nick,

You should be able to probe on the crystal, there isn't a clock output from the hub when using a crystal.

Yeah so pin 29 (XTAL 2) reads a 3.4V high and I saw it one time creep down to 1.6V and then back up to 3.4V after a manual reset. Pin 30 (XTAL 1) has not changed at all. Should I send a 6MHz tone into these ports and see if that changes anything?

Ok, I would expect to see some toggling on the clock.   Try to input a clock to XTAL1 if you can.   Can you send the crystal part number too?

the part number is: CSTNR6M00GH5C000R0 from Murata Electronics. 

I am sending a 3.3V to 0V 50% Duty square wave into XTAL1. Still the same Error from the Computer. Also tried connecting another clock source from an evaluation module and the same results.

I am going to have to step away for the rest of tonight, will be continuing tomorrow based on your reply.

I just noticed that TSTMODE isn't grounded in your system and it should be.  Can you try that tomorrow?
