DS90UB948-Q1: Routing question between RIN and connectors

Hi team,

we have two questions about the routing between RIN and connectors. customer use 100ohme differential trace. since the board size limit, the PCB distance between RIN and connect is up to 170mm, we have concern about that.

can you help on below items:

1. ate there requirements about routing length between RIN adn connector? any risk if the length is 170mm.

2. which patameters can be used to measure the infuence of the routing length on the LVDS signal?

in addition, can we use IBIS mode to similate the signal quality? can you give a example about the length trace application. thanks a lot!

Hi Betty,

No, the IBIS model doesn't simulate the signal integrity performance. Note that the channel specs for the PCB is just fraction of the entire channel specs. You can measure the SI performance by including your cable. The IBIS-AMI model would do FPD-Link modeling. Other thing that you can do by importing your PCB design into ADS or ANSYS to simulate the SI performance.
