TPS25814: Quick Question

Part Number: TPS25814

Hey team,

I was looking in to this part for a keyboard design and was a bit turned around on some of the status indicator flags since I am somewhat unfamiliar with USB-C. If I wanted the TPS25814 to toggle a power mux (battery power vs usb-c power) when a usb-c line is connected, would this be the POL flag?

Thanks!

  • Hello,

The POL flag is used for a MUX to determine which orientation the type-c cable is plugged in. This is not the right flag for your application.

You are looking for the SINK flag. The SINK flag asserts when a Type-C Sink is identified on the CC lines. This is what you will need, as the SINK flag will assert whenever a Type-C Sink is identified.

    Thanks,

    Emma
