MAX232: Are these possible to use charge pump capacitor(C1-C4) is 2.2uF

My customer is considering MAX232ID and has a question.

I would be grateful if you could advise.

According to the datasheet, charge pump capacitor(C1 to C4) should use 1.0uF of ceramic, Tantalum or electrolytic.

Are these possible to use ceramic 2.2uF instead of 1.0uF

When possible, what should it be aware of.

Shinichi,

Yes, MAX232 can work with 4 2.2uF cap. It might take a little longer time for the output voltage to be stable when the device powers up. Please refer to this blog for detailed discussion.
