Hi,

my customer asked if he can easily replace DP83822IRHB with the DP83822IFRHB, since DP83822IRHB has supply shortages.

Are there any concerns or important things that the customer has to consider.

The customer already compared the datasheets and found out that the only difference is the 100BASE-FX support of the DP83822IFRHB :

The 100BASE-FX has to be enabled by hardware strap pins:

But in their circuit it is not the case

Hello Jan,

Yes your customer can replace the IRHB version with the IFRHB without any issues.

We communicate this already to our CM and got immediately the next question if "DP83822HRHB" and "DP83822HRHB" could be also used because the "IF" version is also running out from the open market.

sorry my failure, the question was related to the "DP83822HRHB" and "DP83822HFRHB" ... so at the end if all availibal version can be replaced ;-).

Hi Christian,

So long as the design is based off of the DP83822I, then the IF, H, and HF should be able to substitute for it.
