TUSB7320: question about MOD (Defined by Microsoft)

Part Number: TUSB7320

Hi Team,

My customer has a question need teams help.

Customer mention that there has a MOD defined by MSFT, do you ever know what is it?

Since MOD descriptors are defined by Microsoft itself, so now, my customer's device did not respond to this non-USB standard protocol requirements and this device use our USB redriver TUSB7320.

Under normal scenario, devices that do not respond to the MOD descriptor can also be used and shut down normally.

In this issue, by monitoring the USB bus, it is found that when the device is connected to the extended USB3.0 interface of the industrial computer, if the device does not respond(MOD), the operating system will continue to send MOD descriptor requests, resulting in the inability to shut down.

After analysis and judgment, the extended USB3.0 port driver has defects. When the system is initialized for the first time, if the USB device does not respond to a non-standard MOD descriptor, the driver will keep resending the request, causing the system to fail to shut down.

Please kindly to let me know if you have any comment or suggest on this, thanks!
