TCA9517: How to design TCA9517 (Vilc= 0.4V) for system chip (Vol= 0.4V)

There are two questions need your support.

1. We would like to select TCA9517 as solution. In our application, the TCA9517 Vilc is 0.4V and main chip Vol= 0.4V. Is the design OK?

If the design is no problem, do you have any data or application note for reference?

If not, how to design the buffer for main chip which Vol= 0.4V? 

2. We also consider to TCA9803 as solution. But TCA9803 datasheet indicates Vil =0.3*VccA or Vil =0.3*VccB. There is no spec of Vile. Do you have the spec. of Vilc? Does the max Vil of TCA9803 is 0.99V when VccA/ VccB is 3.3V?

  • The specified VOL is measured at a specific current. By sizing the pull-up resistors for a smaller current, you can get a lower VOL.

    The TCA980x uses a different mechanism to detect the signal direction. Just ensure that there are no pull-up resistors on the B side.
