SN65HVD82: SN65HVD82 load capacity

I want to monitor load capacity, the mean is that RS-485 BUS has more node（SN65HVD82）, I saw the requirement that input resistance is12K per load, i want to know the input resistance is between line and ground , or between line and line, which is correct ?

The requirement is referring to input resistance between line and ground. The requirement is based on the amount of leakage current that happens from each transceiver, and for the SN65HVD82 this can be found on page 5 of the datasheet under "Bus Input Current". At 125uA maximum, theoretically 256 SN65HVD82 transceivers can fit on one bus.
