TUSB212: Inquiries about operation

Part Number: TUSB212
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TUSB214, TUSB216

Hi,

I have an inquiry about the picture below.

1.TUSB212

-> PIN3,4,9: How does it work when not connected?

2. TUSB214

-> PIN3,4,9: How does it work when not connected?

3. TUSB216

-> PIN3,4,6,9,11: How does it work when not connected?

-> PIN11 appears as an enable pin for BC1.2 CDP.

In case of Not Connection, is only the internal BC1.2 Block deactivated?

Thanks.

Regards,

MJ

  • Hi MJ,

    1. Workable but DC Boost setting will only be configured at Mid setting with no option for tuning. I recommend leaving resistor options to allow for tuning DC boost settings per datasheet. I recommended placing a test point on CD and ENA_HS.

    2.  Workable but DC Boost setting will only be configured at Mid setting with no option for tuning. I recommend leaving resistor options to allow for tuning DC boost settings per datasheet. I recommended placing a test point on CD and ENA_HS.

    3. Workable but Boost and RX_SEN setting will only be configured at Level 3 and Mid setting with no option for tuning. I do not recommend leaving this BOOST pin NC as this is the primary tuning option for redriving function. RX_SEN Mid setting is used in most applications (medium lossy channels) but I still recommend leaving tuning options. CDP_ENZ can be left NC and will disable CDP function (pin has internal pull-up).
