DP83867CR: Ethernet Connectors with integrated magnetics

Part Number: DP83867CR

Hello,

We are thinking of using 7499111121A Ethernet Connector with integrated magnetics from Wurth Elektronik with internal connections and characteristics shown in the first two pictures below. I noticed a small difference in the value of the capacitors on the left side comparing to the values shown in the DP83867CR datasheet (last picture below) 4x0.01uF instead of 4x0.1uF.

Do you think this is a suitable connector? Could this difference be a problem and stop the circuit from working properly?

Thank you.

  • Hi Ioannis,

The biggest issue I see here is that on the left side of the magnetics, the center taps are shorted together. This has caused compliance issues in the past. To avoid any potential issues, I would recommend finding another magnetics where the center taps are not shorted together, as shown in the datasheet.

    Regards,
