ONET1141L: ONET1141 modulation

Part Number: ONET1141L

Hi Everybody

I have questions.

1. If I  use data input DIN+ with 0 ~ 2.0V only (don't use DIN-). And then do I have to float DIN-? or connect to GND?

2. If I use data input as question 1, ONET1141  driver laser well?

3. DIN impedence is 100 Ohm.  If I use 50 Ohm input, then I have to connect 100 Ohm resistor at DIN?

  • Greetings Kim,

    Please note comments below:

    1. If I  use data input DIN+ with 0 ~ 2.0V only (don't use DIN-). And then do I have to float DIN-? or connect to GND?

*** Please note maximum differential input voltage is 1V. Therefor it means single ended input swing voltage is 500mV peak to peak.  Please note device has not been characterized using single ended input.

    2. If I use data input as question 1, ONET1141  driver laser well?

*** Device has not been characterized using single ended input. When using differential input, since ended output can be as high as 2V peak to peak.

    3. DIN impedance is 100 Ohm.  If I use 50 Ohm input, then I have to connect 100 Ohm resistor at DIN?

*** Normally when driving differential input in single ended fashion, it would be good to connect un-used input to GND through 49.9-Ohm resistor and AC coupling Cap to GND.

    Regards,, Nasser
