TUSB546A-DCI: USB-C HDMI Alt mode

Part Number: TUSB546A-DCI

I'm using this part in USB-typeC HDMI Alt mode per app note SLLA333.

The part claims to be ultra low power but as soon as it is enabled (without any data or clock transfers) it pulls about 750mW.

Once I enable the clock and data transfers to power is at about 700mW.

I'm transferring TMDS data over the 4 DP lanes at about 2Gbps. The spec sheet claims 660mW for 8.1Gbps.

I don't understand why the part is pulling so much power (and getting quite hot) in my application, even when the data and clock lanes are inactive.

Please help me understand.
