Hi team,

I have some questions about FPD-Link, could you kindly help me answer below questions?

  • In the application of UB949 pairing with UB948, can I add bypass cap in the following locations? Why?

  • Can the resolutions of 4 lanes of UB964 be different?
  • Where should I change in HW & SW design when I change STP mode to Coaxial mode with UB940?

    Hello Jaiwei,

    I'm not sure I understand your first question about the bypass caps. The FPD-Link interface is AC coupled so it requires AC coupling caps between DOUT and RIN as shown in the application diagram. 

    For the 964, yes the 4 RX ports can have totally independent resolutions. 

    For the 940, please check the datasheet page 82 for the typical application connection diagram for coax and table 101. You must also change the MODE_SEL strap to select coax mode.
