PCF8575C: Similar Product

Part Number: PCF8575C
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TCA9535, TCA9539

Hello Team,

My Customer is looking for a similar product to PCF8575C without internal pull-up resistance. So that the IO's should be in high impedance at on power on.

Also, a product having similar specs, only difference required: IO's in open-drain design structure, instead of IO's in push-pull design structure.

Regards,

Renan

  • Hi Renan,

The PCF8575C is actually an open drain style output and should actually power up in high impedance mode. Are you seeing something different?
The device itself does have a temporary rise time accelerator/one-shot that turns on when you write HIGH to the outputs which turns on for some nanoseconds to quickly pull the open drain output high quickly then they are disabled.

If this feature isn't what you want, you can look at the TCA9535/TCA9539 and just use the device as an open drain driver by switching it from an output low to an INPUT so you can alternate from LOW or HI-Z this way.
