Customer is having issue when addressing TCA9548A from an 8 bit PIC microcontroller. Please see inquiry below.

I am using an 8-bit Microcomputer PIC and I'm programming using the MPLAB environment. The I2C library is called I2CSIMPLE.
Problem:
The standard write to slave function expects to see a slave address, a register address and the data byte to be transmitted. The TCA9548A has no register address because it has only one register. So I cannot write to the device!
