TUSB3410: UFP or DFP consideration?

Hello, 

We are considering the TUSB3410 as a USB to serial bridge (<60Mpbs) for just USB data on an internal board to connect nvram and a processor/fpga. There would be no port or cable and we would be using just USB data lines. 

Is it possible to use 2 of the TUSB3410 to be used as a bridge on both sides of the USB signals? 

In this configuration is 1 side still considered UFP and 1 side DFP? Can TUSB3410 be used on either?
