TMDS181: polarity swap

Hi team,

My customer is doing layout of TMDS181 but ran into routing issues. They need to change the order/polarity on the input side in order to keep the routing straight. The datasheet only refers to the input side but not sure about the output.

I know the order & polarity swap can only be done on retimer mode only, but do they need to swap the polarity on the output side as well or can it be left as it is?

Please refer to section 8.3.3 of the TMDS181 data sheet for additional details.

1. In pin-strap mode, the TMDS181 can support lane order or polarity swap.

2. If you want to support both the lane order and polarity swap, you have to use the I2C mode

3. Lane order swap only supported in redriver and retimer mode

4. Polarity swap only supported in retimer mode

5. Both lane order and polarity swap work on the input side only

6. If you swap the polarity both at the input and the output, then there is no polarity swap
