XIO2001: XIO2001

Part Number: XIO2001

Hi Team,

(1) If JTAG_TCK and JTAG_TRST are pulled high, what is the connection with the current IC that cannot be detected!
(2) If the HW is not modified, can you start the function of turning off the JTAG first through Register to avoid the problem that the IC cannot detect?

Here is the background:

The customer have problem that PCI Slot cannot detect PCI Card.

After debugging, we find that this motherboard JTAG_TCK and JTAG_TRST have reserved pull-L resistors (no upload).
After loading the 0 ohm resistor, JTAG_TCK and JTAG_TRST are changed to pull-L.
Then TI XIO2001 can be detected, PCI Slot function test is normal.

Please help on the question.

Thanks and best regards,

Jamie

  • Hi Jamie,

1). XIO2001 supports JTAG that is compatible with IEEE 1149.1 standard and supports boundary scan. For applications that do not require boundary scan TCK and TRST must be pulled low. Otherwise device goes into a test mode. Please note with a pull down Resistor a JTAG controller can still pull this high if needed. This explains why it cannot be detected.

2). Checked and unfortunately there is no a register bit that would control JTAG TCK and TRST pins.
