My customer is asking:
1. What is the maximum distance possible between the device and the ethernet transformer (Magnetics)?
2. What is the maximum distance possible between the device and the controller (Ethernet MAC)?

Hi Eran,

We recommend keeping the trace length between the device and the magnetics to less than 2 inches.
We recommend keeping the trace length between the device and Ethernet MAC to less than 6 inches.

These recommendations are to ensure good signal integrity for the system.

Do we have a document in which I they learn length parameters with RGMII . They are using PCB material IT8350, and wanted to check if it is possible to extend the line.

Hi Eran,

I do not have a TI document regarding the length parameters of RGMII. The 6 inches trace length is defined in the RGMII standard. Below is an E2E thread I found discussing the matter in a bit more detail.
