DS110DF111: Regarding input swing requirements on INA+ and INA- pins

Part Number: DS110DF111

Is there a hard requirement on the input differential swing between the INA+ and INA- pins?

I see a differential pkpk swing of 400mV between the differential input pins INA+ and INA- with a high speed oscilloscope.

Reading out the internal eye monitor from the DS110DF111, I read the internal vertical eye opening of ~450mV and internal horizontal eye opening of 0.82UI.

Am I in good shape for 10G?

  • Hi,

For default setting the minimum input amplitude is driven by the Signal Detect Level per datasheet. However the required Tx launch amplitude at the channel input to ensure no errors depends on the total insertion loss for this channel.

Our recommend minimum eye opening thresholds to ensure no errors are HEO > 0.375UI and VEO > 197mV. The retimer HEO and VEO values you are observing exceed these limits with plenty of margin, so yes you are in good shape for 10G Slight smile

    Thanks,

    Rodrigo Natal
