DP83867IS: Can meet my customer's requirements?

Part Number: DP83867IS

Hello

My customer is thinking of DP83867IS for their new design.
But, they are not sure if DP83867IS can fully meets their following requirements 1) to 4).
Please let them know if DP83867IS is the right device or not. If DP83867IS is the right device, then please also let them know the required register setting to achieve 1) to 4) below.

No auto-negotiation. Either fixed 10BASE-te or fixed 100BASE-TX.
RGMII interface.
To support “Link Fault Pass Through”, they would like to disable TX somehow.
Monitor Link Status, and light an LED when a link is establish and brink it during data TX/RX activities.

Hello,

1. Yes, DP83867 can be configured to perform 100Base-TX force mode.

2. RGMII i/f is supported

3. Link Fault Pass thru : Can you elaborate more details on it ?

4. Supported thru LED

For #3, my customer is asking if DP83867IS has the same feature as the following register bit of competitor’s devices.

Microchip KSZ8051MNL
PHY Control 2 Register (Address 1Fh), bit3, Disable Transmitter

Broadcom BCM54618SE
PHY Extended Cntrol Register (Address 10h), bit13, Transmit Disable

You can use IEEE Power Down to disable transmit and receive both. However MDC/MDIO will be available for PHY access.
