[TUSB2046I] Query on reset pin

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS2071

Hi,

I would like to inquire that whether the assertion on reset pin is integral for boot up sequence of the IC or not? can the pin be left always as logic 1? my board is getting direct 3.3V supply and hence it diminishes any requirement of an LDO based USB Power Controller ICs (tps2071....5). The literature I went through suggest to not assert the pin until 90% 3.3 V is produced but in my case I have no such considerations since I am getting solid 3.3V externally.

Thanks,

Safi

  • Hi Safi,

Yes, the power on reset is required for the TUSB2046.  A RC circuit as described in the datasheet will provide the correct timing, the RESET pin should not be tied directly to the power rail only.
