TPS65987DDK: PP_CABLE 5v supply necessary for pure-Sink application?

Hi,
I am designing a device which is a pure power Sink. I want to use the TPS65987DDK as a PD controller to negotiate 20V 5A with a USB PD supply/source on the other end, but my device does not need to/should not ever act as a source for other devices. It has no onboard battery and will be powered only from the singular USB-C PD port.

With this in mind, is it still necessary to provide 5v to PP_CABLE? If so, what is the best option to do so?... regulated from VBUS seems awkward or not feasible. Either CC1 or CC2 will be VCONN input but we don't know which because of orientation.

I just found the TIDA-050014 reference design (https://www.ti.com/lit/ug/tiduef4/tiduef4.pdf) which has PP_CABLE as NC. Would just like confirmation that this is okay for an "actual" design as in the datasheet it says the minimum voltage is 2.95 :)

Are you using the TPS65987DDK as a TBT4 device? The TPS65987DDK is only used for a TBT4 device so if this is not your application, I recommend you use the TPS65987DDH. If you do not intend to source VCONN, PP_CABLE is not necessary.
