TDP158: Eye diagram recommendations

Hello sir:

We are using TDP158.

And we are testing HDMI 1.4, and we provide our tested report for you reference.

We only change the register 0C to 60 and register 0D to 78, and the other registers are using default value.

And according our tested result that CK-D1 was failed, please refer the figure as below.

Please help to provide recommendations for us and let us know how to improve this eye diagram?

    Hi,

    Since the TDP158 is a redriver, 

    1. How long is the trace from the source to the TDP158?

    2. What is the current RX EQ setting?

    3. What is the current TX Pre setting?

    Hi David:

    Please refer the feedback as below.

    1. The shortest port line length is about 3800mil, the longest port line is about 5800mil.

    2. 15.5dB, Equalization Control Register value is 78.

    3, 0dB, MISC CONTROL 0Ch Field Descriptions value is 60.

    Please help to provide your recommendations.

    Hi,

    Assume ~0.4dB/in loss for 3.4G data rate, 3800mil will give you ~1.6dB loss while 5800mil will you ~2.46dB loss. 15.5dB equalization is over-equalized, so please set the EQ for the 3800mil to be as close to the 1.6dB loss as possible and for the 5800mil to be as close to the 2.46dB loss as possible.
