Hi Team,

Good day, we received inquiry from customer and want to confirm regarding the ROM of TUSB4041I

1. Customer is using this IC to build USB hub and want to know if the IC stores any user information while is connected and if so, what happens after is disconnected?

Hi Maynard,

No, the hub doesn't store any information. The hub can access an attached EEPROM and read in register values as described in the datasheet, but it doesn't store any bus or system information.

HI Jeremy,

The only user accessible ROM is the OTP ROM which is 8 bytes of configurable settings. The customer can also configure the hub using EEPROM or SMBUS which is a 256 byte block as defined in section 8.5 of the datasheet. There is nothing else accessible in the hub.
