TPS25750: TPS25750 application customization tool and the USB2ANY adapter

Part Number: TPS25750
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: USB2ANY,

Hi Team, needing your assistance with this concern.

Regarding the connection between the TPS25750 application customization tool and the USB2ANY adapter – they noticed that the USB2ANY uses HID class driver when connected to the PC. On the other hand, I can see that the TPS25750 application is connected to a serial port.

How to interface between the USB2ANY and the application if the USB2ANY is does not use a virtual com port device?

Thank you.

  • Mark,

The TPS25750EVM is not compatible with the USB2ANY, it has an on board TIVA MCU that implements to USB to I2C bridge to program the EERPOM.  All that is necessary is to plug the EVM into your PC with a microB connector and exectute the GUI.

    Regards,

    Chuck

  • Hi Chuck, sorry for not clarifying. Going back to the question we are using the  USB-PD-CHG-EVM board.

    Thank you.

  • Mark,

I have reviewed this with the designer of the USB-PD-CHG-EVM and the USB2ANY is used to control the charger only.

The TPS25750 I2Cs port is exposed on a 4 pin header on this board for programming.

You can use any flash programmer that supports the intel binary program to load the binary file created by the TPS25750 configuration GUI onto the USB-PD-CHG-EVM.  We typically use the TotalPhase Aardvark for this purpose in our systems.  TotalPhase provides a tool called FlashCenter that will allow you to program almost any SPI or I2C based flash on the market.
