DP83867IS: How to disable Wake-on-LAN, how DP83867IS reacts under normal operation?

Hello,

My customer has questions about DP83867IS as follows.

Q1:
Please provide all required register setting for not using Wake-on-LAN.

Q2:
When Wake-on-LAN, CRC check and Receive 1588 indication are disabled by setting RXFCFG bit7 to 0 (normal operation), does DP83867IS ignore any magic packets and time stamps and take no action?

Q3:
When Wake-on-LAN, CRC check and Receive 1588 indication are disabled by setting RXFCFG bit7 to 0 (normal operation), if DP83867IS receives a packet that matches Pattern Match Register XX, how does DP83867IS react?

For your first question, the interrupt can be enabled/disabled via bit 3 in register 0x0012.

Hi K.Hirano,

For your second and third questions, if Wake-on-LAN is disabled, the PHY will read the magic packet as a regular packet.

The DP83867 does not detect time stamps, it only detects the start of packet and the MAC handles the conversion to a timestamp.

When Wake-on-LAN is active then when the PHY encounters a magic packet, it sends an interrupt indicating that a magic packet has been received.
